Applique (tackle twill) cuts your design into contrasting fabric shapes and stitches them onto the item, each edge secured in thread so the shape sits slightly proud of the base. Large logos stay soft and flexible, fabric fill replacing the dense thread that makes full embroidery feel stiff. The applied result is tactile and layered: you feel distinct cloth panels and a raised stitched border, with each shape's own fabric carrying the color. Color comes from the fabric and thread themselves, so bold solid shapes stay crisp and saturated, and the stitched edges hold through repeated washing without peeling.

Each color is its own thread in a solid shade. What artwork is a poor fit for embroidery?: Hairline strokes, very small type and continuous-tone gradients.
