Embroidery

Your design stitched in colored thread directly into the fabric, leaving a raised, textured mark with the soft sheen and dimensionality of real stitching.

How embroidery works

Embroidery stitches your design directly into the fabric, building artwork from dense, interlocking threads rather than laying ink on the surface. Each color is its own thread in a solid shade. The result is a raised, tactile mark with the soft sheen of thread and a slightly dimensional edge. Each shape reads as a clean, saturated block, and the sewn-in design resists fading, peeling, and wear through repeated washing.

Best for logos built from bold, solid shapes and readable lettering, where each color stitches as its own solid thread shade for dependable, consistent color. The needle-and-thread construction holds clean shapes but rounds off hairline strokes and tiny type, and it cannot reproduce photographic gradients or fine shading.

Is embroidery right for your artwork?

Best for
Logos and lettering built from bold, solid shapes, where each color is a flat spot color and a raised, textured finish adds value.
Not the fit for
Not suited to hairline lines, very small type, or continuous-tone gradients, which the scale of the stitch cannot resolve.
Fine detail
Holds bold shapes and readable lettering cleanly; fine lines and small text round off because each stitch occupies space in the fabric.
Pantone matching
Pantone (PMS) color matching is available as an option for an additional charge per color.
Choose something else if
Artwork is photographic or has smooth tonal gradients, choose full color; or needs crisp hairline detail and very small text, choose screen print.

Embroidery questions, answered

What does an embroidered logo look like?
Embroidery stitches the design directly into the fabric, building the artwork from dense, interlocking threads rather than laying ink on the surface. Each color is its own thread in a solid shade. The result is a raised, tactile mark with the soft sheen of thread and a slightly dimensional edge, and the sewn-in design resists fading, peeling and wear through repeated washing.
What artwork is a poor fit for embroidery?
Hairline strokes, very small type and continuous-tone gradients. Each stitch occupies real space in the fabric, so fine lines and small text round off and shading cannot be reproduced. Embroidery is at its best with logos and lettering built from bold, solid shapes, where each color stitches as its own thread shade. For photographic or gradient artwork choose a full-color method; for crisp hairline detail choose screen print.
How are embroidery thread colors matched to my brand colors?
Each color in the design is stitched in a solid thread shade chosen to match your artwork. Where a product offers it, Pantone (PMS) color matching is an option for an additional charge per color, selecting the thread closest to your Pantone reference; otherwise the embroiderer picks the nearest standard thread color.
