Pad print applies a thin, flat layer of ink that conforms to curved surfaces. Heat transfer lays down a full-color, photographic-quality image. For artwork with fine lines or small text, laser or pad print are ideal; for gradients or photographic detail, heat transfer is the best choice.

Pad printing (tampography) transfers ink from a silicone pad onto the item, flexing into curves, angles, and recessed areas flat application can't follow. Full-color transfer heat-applies a printed film directly onto the item, bonding it as a thin, smooth surface layer. It reproduces photographic imagery, multi-color artwork, and continuous gradients — capabilities solid spot-color methods cannot match. The finished mark reads as a flat, slightly filmic layer with a subtle sheen at the surface boundary; its strength is color complexity, tonal shading, and fine detail.
