Key Facts

  • Magnetic frame pieces — two halves clamp the print without a backing board
  • Zinc alloy body — metal construction in a rectangular profile
  • Doubles as a fridge magnet — the frame mounts on a steel appliance door
  • Weighs 0.12 lb — light enough to hang or mail without extra postage planning

Description

This photo frame is built from two zinc alloy pieces that meet around a 6"x8" print. The halves are magnetic, so the picture is held in place between them rather than slid behind a backing board. The rectangular metal body measures 2" wide by 1" high, and the whole frame weighs 0.12 lb.

Because the frame is magnetic, it can also be used as a fridge magnet, putting a photo on a steel appliance door instead of a shelf or desk. That gives the item a second life after the desk it was handed out at is cleared.

Your artwork is pad printed onto the zinc alloy surface of the frame, where a thin layer of opaque spot-color ink sits nearly flush with crisp edges. Pad print suits fine lines, small text, and tightly detailed artwork; laser etching is also available for a permanent, recessed mark in the metal's own tone, and DIGIBRITE direct-to-garment printing covers full-color artwork with smooth tonal blends. Choose pad print when a specific spot color must stay sharp, laser when the mark should carry no ink at all, and DIGIBRITE when the design runs photographic or many-color.

Pad PrintPMS1 color/location included · one-time setup $40.00 · Up to 2 colors

Pad printing (tampography) transfers ink from a silicone pad onto the item, flexing into curves, angles, and recessed areas flat application can't follow. The result is a thin, nearly flush ink layer with well-defined edges — each color prints as an opaque spot-ink solid, holding evenly on contoured or darker surfaces; cured ink resists everyday wear.

Laser engraving uses a focused beam to etch your design directly into the surface, leaving a permanent, recessed mark with clean, sharp edges that hold fine lines and small text. The result carries no separate ink: it reads in the substrate's own tone — a lighter shade on metal, a darker burn on wood — with a depth you can feel and a mark that resists fading, wear, and scratching.

DIGIBRITE is a digital full-color imprint, applying photographs, gradients, and multi-color artwork directly onto the item in a single printing pass. The image reads as a flat, high-resolution print with fine detail and smooth tonal blends. Color is converted to a full-color process and rendered as the closest achievable match rather than an exact brand color, and it prints most vividly on white or light items.

From our decoration and product guides

What is pad printing and what does it look like?
Pad printing (tampography) transfers ink from a silicone pad onto the item, so the pad flexes into curves, angles and recessed areas that a flat application cannot follow. The result is a thin, nearly flush ink layer with well-defined edges. Each color prints as an opaque spot-ink solid that holds evenly on contoured or darker surfaces, and the cured ink resists everyday wear. More about Pad Printed →
When should I choose pad printing over screen printing?
When the artwork has fine lines, small text or tight detail that must stay sharp on a contoured or uneven surface, such as a pen barrel or a curved drinkware wall. The conforming pad holds crisp edges where flat methods cannot reach. Pad printing suits fine detail better than flooding large areas, so for broad solid fills, photographs or gradients look at screen printing or a full-color process instead. More about Pad Printed →
What does laser engraving look like on a promotional product?
Laser engraving uses a focused beam to etch the design directly into the surface, leaving a permanent, recessed mark with clean, sharp edges. There is no ink: the mark reads in the material's own tone, a lighter shade on metal and a darker burn on wood, with a depth you can feel. It resists fading, wear and scratching because nothing sits on top of the surface. More about Laser →
