How domed decal works
Domed Decal (also doming or 3D resin label): a full-color printed adhesive label finished with a clear polyurethane resin that cures into a raised dome over the artwork. The result is a lens-like gloss surface with real physical depth — saturated color sealed against scratches, moisture, and UV fading. Color renders as a full-color process blend that comes close to brand-color references but does not match exact spot inks.
Reach for it when you want artwork to sit under a thick, lens-like gloss that adds physical depth and shrugs off scratches, moisture, and fading in daily handling. Fine lines and small text stay crisp, but the rounded dome edge softens very tight registration.
Is domed decal right for your artwork?
- Best for
- Full-color, photographic, or gradient artwork that benefits from physical depth, high gloss, and a sealed scratch- and weather-resistant surface.
- Not the fit for
- When the design must be color-critical to an exact brand-color reference, since the process blend approximates rather than matches spot colors.
- Fine detail
- Holds fine lines, small text, gradients, and photographic detail well; the rounded dome edge slightly softens artwork pushed to the very edge of the decal.
- Pantone matching
- Pantone (PMS) color matching is available as an option for an additional charge per color.
- Choose something else if
- You need flat spot-color printing — choose Screen Print; you want a flat full-color decal with no raised dome — choose Heat Transfer — Full Color.

Artwork pushed to the very edge of the decal also softens slightly where the dome rounds off. For flat spot-color printing choose screen print.
