Decoration & Imprint
4 methods
Your imprint can be placed on the front, top, or bottom area of the journal. Choose from Deboss, Foil Stamp, Pad Print, or Screen Print. For bold, tactile branding, Deboss or Foil Stamp work well; for detailed artwork, Pad Print or Screen Print are better options.
Foil StampPMSFull-color imprint · 1 location included · one-time setup $75.00
Foil stamping (hot stamping) presses a thin metallic foil onto the surface with a heated metal die, bonding it where the die makes contact and leaving a shallow pressed-in impression. The mark reads as a single reflective metallic tone: it throws light at some angles and darkens to an outline of itself at others, giving the logo depth against the base. Solid shapes and bold lettering hold cleanly; very fine lines and small text can soften as the foil seats under pressure.
Pad PrintPMS1 color/location included · one-time setup $60.00 · Up to 4 colors
Pad printing (tampography) transfers ink from a silicone pad onto the item, flexing into curves, angles, and recessed areas flat application can't follow. The result is a thin, nearly flush ink layer with well-defined edges — each color prints as an opaque spot-ink solid, holding evenly on contoured or darker surfaces; cured ink resists everyday wear.
Debossone-time setup $75.00
Debossing presses your design into the material with a heated die, displacing the surface to leave a recessed impression below the surrounding plane. No ink, no added color. The mark is the substrate itself — a tonal, shadowed shape that catches light along its pressed edges and gives tactile depth under a fingertip. On grained leatherette the recess burnishes slightly darker; bold logos and simple type carry well, while intricate detail rounds and loses definition.
Screen PrintPMS1 color/location included · one-time setup $60.00 · Up to 1 color
Screen printing presses ink through a fine mesh stencil, laying down each color as a separate pass. Each color lays down as its own premixed spot ink, printing solid and consistent across the run. The applied mark is flat and opaque, sitting on top of the material with crisp edges; on heavy coverage, you can feel a slight raised texture where ink builds up. The cured ink is durable and holds up to repeated handling and washing.

- What does foil stamping look like?
- Foil stamping presses a thin metallic foil onto the surface with a heated die, bonding it where the die makes contact and leaving a shallow pressed-in impression. The mark reads as a single reflective metallic tone that throws light at some angles and darkens to an outline of itself at others, giving the logo depth against the base. More about Foil Stamp →
- Can foil stamping print multiple colors or fine detail?
- Foil stamping applies one solid metallic tone per stamp, so it suits clean logos and bold typographic marks where a reflective finish matters more than exact color. Gradients, very small text and hairline detail can fill in or soften as the foil seats under die pressure. For printed brand colors or full-color artwork choose screen print or a full-color process. More about Foil Stamp →
- What is pad printing and what does it look like?
- Pad printing (tampography) transfers ink from a silicone pad onto the item, so the pad flexes into curves, angles and recessed areas that a flat application cannot follow. The result is a thin, nearly flush ink layer with well-defined edges. Each color prints as an opaque spot-ink solid that holds evenly on contoured or darker surfaces, and the cured ink resists everyday wear. More about Pad Printed →
